The awkward news keeps going viral on daily basis that Monsanto’s Roundup glyphosate-laced herbicide is poisonous. A recent study showed that if Roundup could cause hormonal imbalances in rats, then humans are not safe because it may have similar effects on them.
This study was published recently in the journal ‘Toxicology Reports’. It was discovered that Roundup works as a “hormone hacker” which means, it creates imbalances in the production of steroid hormones in male rats.
Roundup eliminates weeds by acting as an enzyme inhibitor thereby stopping further production of aromatic amino acids needed for plant growth. Roundup-resistant GMO plants are not harmed by the active chemicals in this herbicide.
Though, Monsanto says that Roundup is safe for humans, but latest findings have rendered this statement baseless and not true, let alone mentioning the fact that glyphosate, the main ingredient in Roundup, has also been proven to cause cancer – even in a very minute concentration.

Humans and most mammals do not have the enzymes for and therefore cannot synthesise these aromatic amino acids, which is why Roundup is considered to be safe and non-toxic. Recent studies, however, have suggested that Glyphosate, the primary constituent of Roundup could be a carcinogen, and could affect the development of foetus and disrupt hormonal function.
Roundup exposure at a dose as low as 10 mg per kg body weight of rats causes decrease in testosterone and corticosterone secretions.

Monsanto dodges the issue
These are important findings, because they appear to corroborate the results of previous studies which found that Roundup causes adrenal problems in humans.
Not surprisingly, Monsanto has tried to deflect any such connections. One of Monsanto’s Public Affairs spokesmen robotically commented:
Unless we have a chance to study the report in detail, it would not be fair for us to comment. We will study the report in detail.

Adrenal insufficiency is caused by abnormally low levels of cortisol that lead to fatigue, anorexia, sweating, anxiety, shaking, nausea, heart palpitations and weight loss; chronic cases of which can be fatal, if untreated.
Do you need more proofs that Roundup is unsafe?
Going by all the recent revelations regarding this killer herbicide popularly called Roundup, it is about time we collectively insist that the usage of this herbicide totally banned. Those of us who initially went against GMOs are now being proven right, but the harmful effects of the chemical still continues.
If you really need more proofs that Glyphosate and Roundup are unsafe, go through the 2014 study published in the Journal of Organic Systems, which connected ever-increasing usage of glyphosate to a massive rise in the incidence of acute and severe diseases in the United States:
The increase in the use of this chemical is encouraging the development of diseases such as Autism, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, obesity, Alzheimer’s, senile dementia, Parkinson’s, lipoprotein metabolism disorder and cancer. The report explains the direct correlation between the use of glyphosate and the incidence of these diseases.
The fact that Monsanto is still in business producing this killer brand of herbicide and that its executives are not brought behind bars charged with murder cases are enough reasons to testify to company’s multi-million dollar propaganda machine to enrich the pockets of politicians and so-called scientists in exchange for false statements and keeping mute.
Well, Monsanto will soon face its waterloo as the tide is turning. Monsanto’s agenda is beginning to fail all over the world as the populace is now aware of the evils and dangerous acts of the company. Monsanto stock is falling drastically. Workers are being laid off almost every day.
